EQ Wellness Lessons, Leases & Training

In EQ Wellness group lessons, we focus on developing horsemanship skills and compassionate communication between horse and rider. With an emphasis on community learning and support, lessons are held in groups of 3-4 riders. Our horsemanship practice is centered in Western riding principles.

EQ Wellness is the highest level of riding at BOK Ranch. Lessons are taught by Taylor Singmaster Shepard and those trained through her methods. BOK Ranch is an inclusive riding community that also offers lower level lessons with assistance and adaptations suitable for people of ALL abilities.

There is currently an extensive waitlist for new riders in the EQ Wellness Program.

Heart Centered Training

When I look around the equine industry I see so many trainers riding in "skills first" ways. Prioritizing the SKILLS that lead to "success" for horses and riders, but forgetting about key elements such as mental health, emotional connection, physical wellbeing, trust and more.

The EQ Wellness Heart Centered Horsemanship program goes deeper with a wholistic approach to developing horses and supporting owners. My top priority is providing you and your equine partner with ALL the tools you need to achieve a lifetime of wellness together.

Every training package includes:

  • Weekly sessions of 45-120min

  • A mix of groundwork, arena work, trail riding, and R+ training based on goals

  • Strength and conditioning sessions

  • Scheduling and progress tracking on the EquiLab app

Along with training, lessons and exercise I will also provide support in the following:

  • Health management including routine veterinary and dental care

  • Feeding and supplement plan

  • Physical and mental equine enrichment

  • Full body healing and maintenance

  • Confidence building

  • Behavior and communication

  • Community building
